- MCAP to lease one new A320-200 to IndiGo
MC Aviation Partners (MCAP) announced today that it has delivered one new Airbus A320-200 aircraft to InterGlobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo) on a sale and lease-back transaction. This is the first one of the two A320-200s that have been committed to Purchase and Leaseback with the airline. The second aircraft will be delivered in July.
IndiGo is one of the growing low cost carriers (LCC) based in India. IndiGo started commercial operations in August 2006, and it has become the largest LCC in India. With its brand-new fleet of 37 A320s and 235 daily flights, IndiGo flies to as many as 25 destinations all over India. Furthermore, the airline has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus for purchase of 180 new production A320s including 150 A320 NEO (New Engine Option) aircraft, by the order of which makes them a launch customer for the NEO.
